There are few things in life more humbling than being chosen by your peers. I am honored to announce that an essay I wrote about friendship has been selected to be in the upcoming anthology, My Other Ex: Women’s True Stories of Leaving and Losing Friends.
The amazing Stephanie Sprenger (Mommy for Real) and Jessica Smock (School of Smock) have compiled a list of authors that has left me in awe. There are national journalists, best sellers, top bloggers, Huffington Post contributors, BlogHer Voices of the Year winners, consultants, business owners, and more. We have all shared a piece of our soul for this project, and hope that you all will find comfort and strength from our honesty.
So often in our lives people come and go. Friendships blossom and then extinguish, many times with no explanation. It is difficult to understand why, or how. As our lives evolve so do those that we surround ourselves with. Those we deem our closest allies and confidantes leave us. The attrition of friendships over time can leave us taking a hard look at ourselves, at our values, and wondering what was it that first interested me so much in this person? Why does the end of this friendship mean so much, or so little? Is this friendship worth fighting for? Should I swallow my anger or allow it to bubble up?
My Other Ex takes the reader through very personal stories that will help you realize that you are not alone, we share our vulnerability and the very things that we learned through our friendships.
I am thankful that Jessica and Stephanie gave me a platform to share my story and I hope you will take the time to pre-order this book before August 1st. You will get your book early (sending out autographed copies on September 2nd – two weeks before the official launch date).
Oh and did I mention the uber intelligent and famous Nicole Knepper (Moms Who Drink and Swear) is providing the introduction? You can also follow along at the web site and learn about the other contributors and the creators. Here is the link: Her StoriesProject.com
